Telos Growcast is a universal lighting controller that helps growers to save energy and grow better plants. Growcast is compatible with many existing grow lights from major manufacturers.
Wirelessly connect to Growcast and control the precise PPF output (dimming) of your grow light. Say goodbye to mechanical timers by applying on/off timing schedules with an optional sunrise and sunset feature.
Growcast doesn’t need an internet connection to work and is instead programmed locally using the secure & encrypted Telos Mesh App, available for Android and iPhone.
The device has a simple plug-and-play set up and connects directly to the existing 1-10V dimming port available on most grow lights.

Universal compatibility
The Growcast doesn’t use proprietary connections that force you to buy a specific brand of grow lights. The goal was to make a universal controller that could connect to any dimmable light on the market.
Optimize your lighting schedules with Precise PPFD
Right now most growers are using dimmers that display a percentage that is completely inaccurate to the actual amount of light output their setting. The precise PPFD feature maps measured photometric data to your grow room and calculates the average PPFD value across the canopy in real-time.
Growcast sets the light output using quantifiable data and provides power consumption and efficiency monitoring.
Replace mechanical timers with smooth on/off dimming
With a Growcast connected you don’t need any heavy-duty contactor panels to switch your grow lights on and off. Simply set a schedule in the app and the Sunrise/Sunset feature smoothly dims your lights on and off from stand-by mode.
By gradually changing the power consumption you protect your equipment from current surges caused by switching large AC loads.
Technology Claim
Growcast uses a new, completely decentralized Bluetooth control technology called Telos Mesh. Simply plug your device in and tap “add” in the Telos app and the networks created.
Each new Growcast added to the network increases the range, forwarding on messages to other devices rather than reporting back to a central router or controller.
Grow more efficiently with data-driven control
All plants have what’s known as a light saturation point. This is the point at which they have received too much light and the plant stops photosynthesizing. Plants naturally recover from reaching their saturation point and can stop/start this process several times a day, but recovery time varies from plant to plant. Once a plant reaches its saturation level, lights that remain on are simply wasting energy, as the plant can no longer use this light to photosynthesize.
Plants that are regularly over-saturated can develop slower due to the time required to recover from over-saturation. This effect can create a vicious circle where growers see slower development and try to add more light to remedy the problem which further slows development and wastes energy, incurring additional growing costs.
By keeping the light level below the saturation point for each week of growth the plants will grow noticeably faster and transpire less, reducing environmental management and water use. Below is an example of a PPFD schedule for short-day medical cannabis plants which was developed by Telos in collaboration with Telos’ research partners.

Additional Features
Privacy lock- All wireless networks produce what’s called an advertising signal so when you want to find and connect to the network it’ll show up in a scan. We have developed a proprietary technology called network lock that allows you to quickly turn this advertising on/off for the whole network without impeding your own access. This feature can be hugely beneficial for data security, site security and for minimizing interference with other devices.
Maintain your schedules even if there’s been a power cut- Each Growcast has a cutting-edge supercapacitor backup circuit which allows the device to continue keeping the correct time for at least 24 hours. Unlike traditional battery backup circuits, the supercapacitor doesn’t ever need to be changed for this function to keep working.
Make quick changes with the responsive touch control sensor- The Growcast has a built in water tolerant touch sensor so you can make quick changes to the output, unlock the network from privacy lock mode or reset the hardware at a touch of a button without needing to open the app. The touch sensor has specific software to reliably distinguish between being pressed by a person intentionally or having water dropped on it.
Get instant feedback with an intelligent RGB LED display- Each Growcast has a bright RGB display that can quickly and intuitively tell you what mode it’s in and whether a schedule is running or not. During a lights-off period, the Growcast only emits green so that it doesn’t interrupt the plant’s circadian cycle.
